Do you think Addrial Medicine(ADD Medicine) causes depression after time?!

Question: Adderall is not known to make people depressed. You can read about the common side effects here:

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/drugi...

Adderall consists of dextroamphetamine and amphetamine. These are psychological stimulants that release norepinephrine and dopamine. Low levels of norepinephrine and dopamine are associated with depression (Wellbutrin, an antidepressant block the reuptake of these two neurotransmitters). So, while Adderall is not approved for treatment of depression, and I don't know of what research has been done on this, I would suspect that it would help depression, if anything.

Depression can be caused by ADD, or it can exist comorbidly. In fact, there is a very high prevalence of comorbid ADD and depression.

no, adderall doesn't cause depression

I think you mean Adderall XR. Are you abusing, taking too much to stay awake or are addicted? That is what Brittany Spears was doing. Only you can answer this question. If you take more than the prescribed amount you are crossing a line to disaster. If not and you feel it isn't working talk to your Dr. Don't be afraid as talking isn't suggesting your Dr. doesn't know what they are doing. Sometimes Adder all doesn't work for all people. I take Adder all and it works perfect for me. The Dr. who I hope is a Doctor of Psychiatry, should be able adjust the medication or change it to something that works for you. If you are depressed that is not a normal thought. If you are thinking suicidal thoughts please get help immediately. Depression is just a disease like a sinus infection or bronchitis as it needs medical treatment. It has no social stigma so if you are are trying to treat it you are way ahead of other people who ignore the symptoms. Good luck!!!
