If you were lonely and disappointed with your life, what would you do to improve!

I would join a known traditional church - like a Baptist church, because regardless of age and accomplishments there is always activities to get involved in. Like for example 40's social nights for the 40 plus age groups. The list goes on.

I myself have got involved in church for the reasons you describe and although I don't really get the religion entirely I have met a nice group of 'safe' friends.

I would make a list of the things of the things that I was unhappy with and out to the side of each list possible ways to correct it. Sometimes we need to look at things in the written form to help us really see ! Also the act of writing it all down is helping us analyze the situation. This works for whatever the problems are.

you should stop whatever your doing in your life that you hate.or you should tell someone whats in your life that you hate maybe that will help u feel better.

Anything that helps others. Not only does the person see how lucky their own life is, but they get the satisfaction of doing something good for the world. You would also meet many other selfless people who have found that one of the best ways to feel good about yourself is to not think about yourself. Once you become so busy trying to right some of the wrongs in the world you may just realize you no longer have that feeling of "emptiness". I think you need a purpose and you just have not found it. Good luck.

I agree with Ann S about making a list, but I think it's also a good idea to make a list of the positives in your life, too. And know that you can add to the lists as time goes on and can look at them when you're feeling particularly down.

And writing it down instead of just making a mental list is a great idea and makes the list more permanent.
