Often I feel tired mentally from the effort life takes to sustain. There is no easy way to make it go away, you just have to fight it. Decide to conquer it, to be and do the things that you want to. That might not be easy but what choice do you have. The alternative is often just to surrender and cant say there would be much fun in that.

What I do is lose myself in novels, music and learning. The other thing I do is withdraw a bit for a day or two, pig out, just sleep late and wander through the days, staying at home, not answering the phone, taking it as it comes. I find that resting the demands on my mind that way is somewhat refreshing and helps me fight the fight again another day.

If you really cant make it go away then I think you need to find someone to talk to, to help you work you way through things. Avoid drugs, seek counseling or the like

I have felt mentally "tired" from driving or being out in public.
I usually need a nap to re-gain my stamina.

It's called stress, or worst case-burnout. You vacation and relax your surroundings and your mental demands until you're relaxed and energetic again.
