How do I stop avoiding studying?!
Question: Lately I've been making check lists every day, anywhere from 6 to 20 things so far, and I always get every single thing on it done, EXCEPT the "school-related" items. I'm in college and it's getting pretty ridiculous. Are there any strategies to start and keep studying (because sometimes even when I start, I'll come up with a reason why I should stop)?
"Just Start" is NOT the answer I'm looking for.

I was plagued by procrastination for years and sometimes still am. However, a biology professor in college made this remark to us when I took his class for a second time:
"I used to put off studying all the time. Then one day I forced myself to open my textbook and I read the first chapter. Hmmm, I thought. I didn't know that! So I continued reading the second chapter and thought, Hey, I didn't know that either, that's pretty interesting...and I kept reading...once I realized that homework wasn't boring but interesting, I got really good grades!" was what he told our class.
When I started thinking like he did, I procrastinated less and actually got a B in biology!
Hope it helps you!
I feel for you. I have the same problem at my house. I run a small business out of my house and I do everything to avoid completing the tasks I need to complete. I'll do anything and everything else...like right now.
I find if I give myself 15 minutes - pledge to work 15 minutes at a time and add up how many of those I can do at a time.
For me, the issue is lack of interest. It's my business, but I don't like the work. Maybe you don't like your major.
