Inattentive ADD?!!?!

Question: I researched ADD and took three online tests that said I probably have inattentive ADD and that I should get checked by a doctor, but how can I be sure that my symptoms (I matched almost all of the symptoms I researched) aren't just pure teenage laziness? I'm not asking if you believe the condition exists, I do and I just want opinions on the difference between the two.

i've seen some of the posts that second person has given many people with questions about ADD/ADHD and god it really offends me. i have ADHD, i was put on medication when i was a little kid...i stopped taking it in 7th because i thought i was perfectly fine....hah. my ADHD was a lot worse those 3 years (i started to take adderall a year ago) than it ever has.

so here is the thing.
stimulants medications are good for people who suffer from ADD/ADHD... that idiot who mocks parents who are trying to help their children out by putting them on medication is well, an idiot. sure...stimulant drugs are cousins with Meth....but just to let you know, i don't know about you, but neither i nor my two cousins or anyone else i've ever known who suffer from ADD or ADHD has ever grounded the medicine up and mixed it with other things then cooked it to make meth.
ritalin, concerta, adderall, etc, is not addictive at all.
i mean yeahEVERY SINGLE KIND OF DRUG CAN BE ADDICTIVE IF YOU ABUSE It..

but anyways
i'm sorry, i have random outbursts when people are idiots like that...haha but anyways
since i got all of that out of the way i shall talk to you about ADD....
so laziness is not a symptom of ADD or ADHD, sorry. i have no clue what inattentive means...therefore i can't help you with that.
both disorders do exist. i'm sorry i babbled soo much.
but anyways, how old are you? you can have these disorders whenever though. it's genetic. someone in your family has ADD or ADHD? sure, you may have the little attractive gene in your DNA. (two years of biology does lots)

you haven't said anything about your symptoms though, so i don't know if i can give you an unpro diagnosis....but i mean, i am like 17..so i do have my fair share of laziness. but here's the thing, ADD is attention deficit disorder....

* Often fails to give close attention to details or makes mistakes in schoolwork;
* difficulty sustaining attention in tasks;
* seems not to listen;
* fails to follow instructions or finish work;
* unorganized;
* difficulties with schoolwork or homework;
* loses things like school assignments, books, tools, etc.;
* easily distracted;
* forgetful about daily activities.

if you got those symptoms...AND there are some people in your extended family that has had ADD/ADHD...then yeah, ya got ADD.

just talk to your parents about it. don't go searchin on your own. hope this helps..

Okay, this is what you need to do. Make an appointment with a counselor. The counselor will talk to you and ask you questions. They are familiar with ADD, so they will know whether you have it or not. It might take four or more sessions before they can tell if you have it, but this is the best way to go.

There IS no difference! When you get "checked out" by a doctor, I recommend that you see a naturopath because stimulants are so addictive and cause so many problems with your body. I know because I am trapped in an addiction that started with the ADD diagnosis. You DON'T need amphetamines or any other kind of psychiatric medication to get through life. Look to your lifestyle habits & see only alternative medical practitioners.
