Can Depakote make Depressin WORSE?!

Question: What do you treat with Depakote? Epilepsy, migraines or bipolar disorder? I can't tell but isn't there any information on the prescription or in the bi-packing list? Do you have depression?

Depression is NOT a sign of immaturity! And it's a great difference between being sad or low for a while and being depressed. Depression knocks the whole system out and the brain can't work properly because of unbalance in the transmitter substances serotonin, noradrenalin and dopamine. The unbalance wears out the nerve cells which transmit the substances and they finally collapse. The symptoms of this process is a deterioration of the memory and difficulties with concentration. That's why it is so important to take anti-depressant for a year or two to help the brain rebuild the chemical balance. You can recover from depression without medical help but if it has gone too far it can be hard. You can imagine anti-depressants as the gypsum for the brain - it's needed for a while so it can heal and rebuild. What do you do when you get a broken leg?
Ask a doctor about the Depakote and depression.

Ask a doctor about the Depakote and depression.

Any drug can make depression worse.

From my personal experience, depression is nothing more than immaturaty.

Most people do not need drugs unless they are mentally ill.

If people learn how to work out their problems without drugs, there would be a whole lot LESS depression. Drugs force you to ignore the problem while treating only the symptoms.

Changing your lifestyle that uplifts your emotional self-esteem helps as well. So, if your lifestyle is in a bar, well, of course, you're going to be depressed. If you hang out a bunch of depressed people, well, you're going to be depressed. If you don't believe in God or Jesus Christ, you have no hope. You're going to be depressed.

Think about it.

I took Depakote for three days and became so ANGRY I wanted to kill someone. The doctor told me it couldn't be associated, but it stopped the day I stopped the drug. So, my advice would be, if you feel worse than you think you should, tell your doctor. If you don't like the answer, listen to yourself. P.S. Ignore Wildkat/Tom Cruise. It's easy to be critical of drugs if you don't need them to feel normal. If God cures mental illness when he feels like it, I wish he'd notice how prevalent it is and go ahead and wipe it out. Until then, do your best. Good luck.
