Question: Prozac used to be just enough for me, but it isn't as effective with me as it once was. but I do feel better when taking both at once though

It is actually very common for Doctors to prescribe more than one type of anti-depressant to get the right combination and effects. I currently take Zoloft and Wellbutrin and it works for me , took a while to get the right dosage amount of each but it is very common I believe

as long as its prescribed by your doc you should be ok .. just keep an eye out for any weird side effffects ..

only if your doctor prescribes it if not you could really hurt yourself

Do not SELF MEDICATE! Yes, sometimes psychiatrist do prescribe both together but have a professional describe them for you because not all of them go together.

please ask ur doc or local chemist they will tell u if its safe or not

Not necessarily.. I feel like doctors just prescribe anything lately. If you really want to know if something can be taken together I would ask your local pharmacist. Sometimes they will know all your medications and tell you that you cannot combine but if they don't know other medications you should really ask. It's a simple question and can help so much. Medications are being so easily given these days and can do so much harm. Please know all the facts before you take any medications together..

Did you have an anxiety problem before Prozac? If yes, then it's not an issue if your doctor is prescribing. Personally, I'd still rather consider a higher dose of Prozac or a different anti-d before adding an addictive benzo. In either case, multiple meds suggest that a psychiatrist is probably the better type of medical doctor to see. They are the experts in psych meds.

If you did not have real anxiety issues before Prozac, see a psychiatrist immediately. When antidepressants cause anxiety, irritability, difficulty sleeping, generally feeling better in a small way regarding depression but also a not good feeling energy at the same time, it is a sign of bipolar type II. This form of bipolar often takes 10 miserable years on average to be properly diagnosed. If that is the case, it is much healthier to get on the right meds instead of waiting for an anti-d to obviously flip you manic after the disease has progressed.
