Does anyone know the best medication for anxiety?!

Question: anxiety and depression

Answers: anxiety and depression

sounds like you need an ssri such as luvox, or prozac. do not dink or use drugs because you are highly prone to addiction. caffiene free beverages always! herbal teas are great too. you can also take herbal sedatives like valerian root, melatonin, cava cava and saint johns wort. try excercising like i do and also walking 3 miles a day. but if your moods are very severe one way or the other then you can't escape taking an ssri drug. hopefully you are not bipolar. which is experiencing mood swings of depression and mania. you described anxiety and not racing thoughts and hyper fueled behavoir. see a psychiatrist and be honest about these feelings so you can get the right meds. also try the advice with the herbal remedies and the excercise. good luck.

You shouldn't really use medication to be calm. Other methods can help.

It depends on the person. Your doctor should be able to help you out.

yes, alot of work, a lot of activities and a lot of sex

calm.easy.steady.

Zanex,,very hard to get.Your doctor wont give you a script easily !!

diazepam,chlordiazepioxide,buspirone..th... r good ones..dont take too much or for long period of time

you can use medicine, but only your doctor could advise, and no one here unfortunately - their are about 60 different medications for anxiety.

ok ok, right. exercise and sunlight. go out with some friends. exercise and social interaction release endorphins which make you feel good. if you feel like you want to stay in bed, go out. if you feel like watching tv all day, turn it off.

don't take any medication, without doctors advice. but even then, its best not to take anything if it can be cured by the above suggestions.

Baches Rescue remedy, it is natural liquid and you cannot overdose.
Buy it from your health store or try online

Honestly, your best medication would be your mind. No pills or over the counter remedies, they cause dependency.Write down whats wrong then rationalize what you can do to help. Ask someone to help if you get confused. Best of luck!

I think most people respond differently to different medicines and tolerate them differently. What works for you, might not work for another. There are so many types of anti-anxiety medications available to people and often the doctor prescribes on a trial basis to begin with.

I've included a couple links for you that explain the various anxiety disorders and how medication helps them.

It depends on your own body chemistry. I am currently on Celexa but I'm also going to a therapist to try and overcome it. If it's mild you might be able to use valarian root to calm your anxiety. If you have more depression you may be better off using st. johns wort. If those do not work you need to check with a therapist who will evaluate you as a person. Trying the wrong perscription for you could actually create worse symptoms. I had a horrible experience with a change in medication so you should always be cautious of any symptoms or changes.

there isnt really a "best" -there are lots of different sorts, and different ones work for different people. the bbc.co.uk/health website has some really good information
basically, its just a matter of trying things. chat to your GP, and they'll put you on one of the most common ones..if that works then great, and if it doesnt, then they'll help you find one that will.
good luck
