Firstly don't let anyone say it is 'easy' or 'simple' because it's certainly not going to be for you. Strangely we're in the same boat, I'm 18 suffer depression and anxiety and won't tell my family. The first thing that will really help is to build a support system around you. Tell a friend who you REALLY trust.

Whenever you feel particularly down give them a call. Try and talk through why you feel down - even if sometimes you just can't pinpoint it. Definitely get out as much as you can. I find that when I'm really feeling depressed getting out into the sun and going for a run, listening to music can really help.

Dealing with depression is pretty basic. First, you buy the book, "The Feeling Good Handbook", by Dr. David Burns. Second, you read it and do EXACTLY as it says to do in the book. Third, you make sure and eat a healthy diet and get plenty of OUTDOOR exercise. Finally, after a few weeks, you start enjoying life.

Pleast tell an adult. If you don't think you can tell your mom, please talk to your teacher or another trusted adult. It is nothing to be ashamed about. No one can help you unless you let some one know how you feel. Please do not wait.

If you think your depressed the best way to get out of it is to force urself toy go out and have fun, i know its easier said than done, i kinda feel the same way as you but i push myself to have fun!

Either that or you just havent found the right friends to hang around with, i dont know bout you but i find it hard to make friends with new ppl but i think that its cos there not the same as me xx

You need to talk to someone though, you will feel better after saying thing out loud xx

Go to your doctor for a check-up. Tell him or her how you are feeling.
You might need an antidepressant or maybe some counseling.
I needed an antidepressant to keep my suicidal thoughts away so the counseling could work.

I have advised it before. Depression is mental attitude in the negative way. I have been depressed many times so I took tranquilizers which can help temporarily.
I once consulted a doctor. He advised me to take 5 shots of whiskey ( liqour is a depressant). It works but the next day, I am again depressed.
It,s a mentel attitude so, think, act and talk positively. Well, don't forget to eat.
