Shouldnt the county mental health clinics be doing more than giving out pills?!

Question: The problem is so massive they only have time to help with a quick fix. They have no time or resources to even begin to identify and reverse the cause of mental illness.

There giving out pills!! What kind?? Where's the line??

What else would you have them do? Most of the time they are understaffed, overworked, and underpaid. It is very hard for them to find good doctors, let alone competent ones.

Not to mention, there are soooo many people with mental disorders, that half the time they end up sending people away unchecked, because they just can't handle the caseloads. If you have an idea, feel free to post it yourself :)

Same thing is happening in Australia the government don't want to know about it.
Whats so crazy about it all they get housing for these people most are OK with medication but then you will get those who don't take theirs so then it becomes a huge problem, then other get hurt of killed.
To make matters worse they do not have any supervision like they had in mental hospitals

Count your blessings. I called the local mental health facility 4 times last week, left messages, and still haven't talked to anyone. I guess I'm not worth helping.

Yes, they should. They do in my county.
