How do I relax and enjoy living a life?!


Question: Hi guys,

I want to become a fun, casual, easy-going and most of all, relaxed, life-enjoying person.

But I am always under pressure from myself of being "practical, and perfect".

For example, even when I play online computer game, I must be the best and win all other players. So it's not playing the game to enjoy it; I play it to just win the other people.

And, when I wear clothes, I don't wear what I like to wear- I wear what makes me look attractive the most.

And, all the time, I am chased by the fear of not being perfect and live horrible life.

Interestingly, I only have one hobby, and I am not interested in anything else. I also show moderate obssesive-compulsive behaviors.

My father has very strong autism.


Now, I am asking you guys a question.

How do I become a relaxed, life-enjoying person, instead of being pressured, scared, feeling being chased?

You must quit having competion with yourself! You must love
yourself without pleasing the outside of yourself. Your self- worth is all screwed up. Only you and your mind can relax,
enjoy life, without being practical or perfect. Didn't you know
it is nothing but your own mind you are fighting. Your Dad
and his autism has nothing to do with how you feel. Get wise
hug yourself and know you can love yourself without proving it
to yourself. Computer games were designed to be fun, you
are not playing for money or recognition. Let your hair done
and think about this. YOU CAN WIN THIS GAME OF LIFE

if you say you want to be a relaxed person, then relax. see what you're like minus the self-induced pressure, because that's a big part of who you really are. sit back, smoke some herb, listen to music, think, and enjoy your alone time. i think you should always take time out of the day to look at the bigger picture of everything, to escape in your own mind, to meditate. it's helped me grow up and think differently.

personally i'm kind of the opposite of you. i don't see how you're so ******* productive all of the time dude.

Well, you could take yoga. It's very relaxing and makes you forget about everything. Also you could become involved in a lot of things you enjoy and make you happy, so that you are preoccupied and don't think about the bad things in your life. Also always try to think of the sunny side. It is hard but it helps.

I think you just cultivate it, work at it every day.

When you find yourself obsessing, stop---acknowledge that this is not behavior that you want and try and change course.

Remind yourself daily why you want to be happy, relaxed, etc and don't beat yourself up when you fail at "not being perfect".

Learn to just sit and be---perfection is not even close to a guarantee for a healthy happy life--in fact it can make you isolated which is the opposite of happy.

Good luck to you. I wouldn't hesitate to talk to someone professionally if you feel that this is not working for you.

This life is all you got, so try relaxing the reigns and enjoying the scenery and strive to live a life that benefits others. That's the best way to get outside yourself.

Just take life slowly...don't dread on the small stuff..like all the stuff u mentioned!! It doesn't matter! What truly matters is being happy in life....everything revolves around happiness.

Follow your hobby! Just spend time with your friends and take life slow! Nothing to be afraid of. Do new things and if you're bad at them, don't worry....life is a LEARNING experience, right? So go out there and find out what you love to do and do it!!
