The best thing you can do is go and see a pyschologist. If you are suffering from depression, then it is normal not to know what caused it. Clinical depression is a mental disorder and it isn't usually caused by anything, it's just a chemical imbalance in your brain. So go and see a therapist, they can tell you whether you are just having a bad week or if you are suffering from depression. After that you can talk to a doctor and see about anti-depressant prescription.

Too much stress.

I'm the same-I have gone from party girl whose out all the time to anxious depressed hermit!I have just started seeing a psychotherapist, but to be honest-they only point out the obvious and it is a very slow process. The depressed feelings could be down to underlying issues-maybe from your childhood, or stress, or even internal negative thoughts. Try to excercise more-I hate it but i have found that walking for 10 mins a day really does help. Also, banana's and chocolate contain serotonin which is released into your body-basically the happy stuff. Talk about it too-bottling it up really only makes you feel more isolated. Whatever you do-try not to take antidepressants, there are alternative ways to treat this if you ask for them. Just try to get out more, take some time for yourself, and even cry it out of your system!I hope this has helped in some way!

Are you bored or lonely? Are you feeling somehow empty? Are your relationships superficial? Perhaps there is something missing in your life. Look at Maslov's pyramid, and ask yourself if your needs are fulfilled.
