How can you manage to stay happy during a stressful time?!

Question: It looks like I'm going to have a stressful week coming up, and having a lot of stress often depresses me, which adds to the normal worry of stress. I wish I could somehow keep it in better perspective so I would only have to worry about the work itself a little bit, and not about the worry about the work. Do you have any advice you can share? Thanks in advance

Two words: Time Management

Make a calender of all the items lined up for you to deal with for the week. Divide up your workload on designated days for the week.

Each day, only think about and attack the item on that designated day. Do not stress over or worry about the upcoming items for the week, only focus on the current day of work.

Start each day off with 10 minutes just to yourself and your favorite coffee or tea in the morning. Take this time to think about and organize that particular day. This will relieve some stress when you have a strategy on how you are going to approach the day and finish it.

Each day that you complete is another "day of stress" gone and cross it off the list.

Following this method allows you to approach your week methodically and before you know it, the week is over and you can relax.

get some exercise, take a walk or something. Make sure that you eat right also.

Hmm, think about all the positive things in your life.

visualize. think how you want it to go this week or whenever, and then visualize it over and over again until you believe it.

kk well first when you wake up decide it will be a good day.....it rlly does help you notice every little thing good b/c if you tell someone oh itz gonna b a good day today then like you are looking for proof so u notice good things

Do something that is the opposite of stressed. But what? I know! I generally eat - sweets! Maybe thats because "stressed," spelled backwards (opposite) is "desserts!" lol A little laughter helps relieve stress. Hope this helps do it for you

Ever here of "self fulfilling prophet"? If you think and tell yourself you are going to feel stressed and depressed then you will. Change your state of mind, think positively. Meet the stress with a positive mindset and it will be easier to deal with.

Stay organized and focus on one day at a time and the tasks of that day and each task as it comes, don't get to far out ahead of yourself or the work.

I also find it is helpful if you have a source of music in your office to play something that is calming and soothing.

Make it a point to exercise every evening for 30 minutes. Also do some things you look forward to.

Take time to de-stress, daily. See stress treatments, at ezy build, below on page 42. Practise daily, one of the relaxation techniques on pages 2, 11, 2c, or 2i; whichever works best for you, but the mindfulness breathing for 15 - 20 mns is ideal, although the progressive muscle relaxation can be learned quickly, and takes only several minutes, if pressed for time. Employ the EFT version for use in public, for which you can reasonably claim that you have a headache, as you massage/tap your temples, but it may be advisable to restrict yourself to subvocalising (saying it to yourself, in your mind, not aloud). Section 53, and pages 2, 2.q and 2.o refer. "Even though I sometimes suffer from stress, I deeply and completely accept myself". You can also multitask, using the gazing technique, as you walk/jog or exercise, by focusing on a distant object, noting any thoughts which flash across your mind, without pursuing any particular train of thought, just gently redirect your focus to the gazing. Yoga, or Tai Chi may suit others, better. For some people, visualisation of a quiet, relaxing scene, like a tropical beach, works well for them. Take 4 Omega 3 fish oil supplements, daily, replacing 2 of them with cod liver oil supplements, or a teaspoonful of the oil (I spread mine on toast, and mask its strong taste with fishpaste, and pepper), in the winter months only, and eat healthily, in accordance with your "nutritional type" as determined at http://www.mercola.com/ SEARCHBAR. http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris
