Would I be hospitalized for this?????????????????!

Question: Since Sunday night I have not had one good night of sleep. Every night I lay in bed for who knows how long. Then I finally go to bed. But then like an hour or else later I wake up. I then Can't go back to sleep for another half hour or so. To go to sleep and stay asleep I have tried everything. I also have a decrease in my appetite. And when I do eat I feel sick and nauseated. Starting about four days ago I started to get headaches and get angry or irritated easily.
Everything has had a major impact on my day to day. Everyday I'm tired. I can't concentrate well and at swimming I have no energy. I now am startin to cry suddenly.

No, not hospitalization. But, rest and food are very impt. No rest and food cause the irritability, etc. Go to the doc and at least discuss your options with her. You may need a sleep aid or an antidepressant. Best wishes. I have been there before.

i'd say go to the doctor but maybe you just have things going on in your life and when you lie down to go to sleep your mind races. you cant sleep until your fully relaxed yeah? and you're not fully relaxed if your mind is going out of control with all these crazy thoughts circulating. i'd go to the doctor just to be safe, but i dont think the hospital would tell you any different than your own doctor would.

Are you feeling anxious or depressed? Either of these could be causing a change in your sleeping pattern. I do not think you would be hospitalized for this, but I do think you should see a doctor. He/she could give you advice or medication to help you stay asleep longer. Don't take this lightly because a lack of sleep can mess up all areas of your life.

Stop eating and playing on the computer atleast 2 hours before you go to bed. And try sleepytime tea. I don't think you'd be put in the hospital for that.

Sounds like a case of stress...Take a day off from school/work...there's a such thing as "mental health days"...go to a spa or salon and take time for yourself, or go on vacation...you sound like you need it!...I'm no expert, but I've felt the same way.

There are many potential problems that could cause this problem. Sleep apnea is the most common, however, this typically will increase your appetite because your body cannot distinguish between sleep deprivation and starvation.

If you are older, you may be lacking a hormone called Melatonin. A pill containing this natural hormone is available over the counter.

By the way, sleep deprivation can cause psychosis and even death, however, in this country, you're likely to be pushed out on the street, even if you were to need a psych ward.

I wouldn't take that possibility seriously.

I'd do some Internet research on these to see if the symptoms match these or other conditions. Sometimes your doctor is too busy to carefully diagnose a problem, so it may help if you can carefully document all of your symptoms and come up with some ideas about what it could be.

You may need to ask your family or roommates if you snore excessively (for apnea). Do your homework and help your doctor be more effective.

It sounds like you have insomnia. The headaches, bad moods, lack of concentration and energy are just your body saying you need to sleep more. Whenever I don't get enough sleep I cry really easily too. I think when you get back into a normal sleeping habit you will feel much better. First I would cut out caffeine and excess sugar from your diet, and try relaxing before bed time. If you are stressed or worried about something then that could be what's keeping you awake. At bedtime, tell yourself "I'm not going to worry now. My problems can wait until tomorrow." Don't worry about how long it takes you to get to sleep, just letting your mind and body relax and rest is good for it too, and sleep will come eventually. If that doesn't help, talk to a doctor or pharmacist about it, and they might be able to recommend a sleeping tablet or some other idea. Sleeping tablets aren't a great idea for every night, but you could take one for a couple of nights in a row to get your body back into the habit of going to sleep at bedtime.

I'm sure you will be feeling back to normal soon. xox
