Need help!!!Neighbor problems?!
Question: We moved into my grandparents house when my grams died 4 years ago. I have always loved this house! When we first moved in our neighbor(friend of the family for YEARS) had 2 dogs who barked nonstop! I asked him if he could maybe do something about them barking at night, since my husband works at 3am and needs to sleep, and they drive me crazy! He said ya they do bark alot, ill try to get them to stop. They didnt. So one night whnit was nice enough to sleep with the window open, we tried the dogs barked all night!!! So the next day we turned the air on so we dont have to hear them. I went next door asked the girlfriend if she could take the dogs in at night, She rudely said ya sure, I tried to explain that they bark all night and we need to sleep, and we should not have to turn the air on beacuse of her dogs, I was VERY polite!!! That lasted 2 days! So July 4th 06 I happen to be outside and see 2 more dogs in their yard, they have 4 now, and guess what they still bark!

Record the barking, photograph the poster she made and put up on the phone pole and then take them to small claims court, sue them for your state's maximun (usually 5,000) for harrasment, you should not have to live like this! It's ridiculous! Anyway small claims only costs $15 to file and should scare the daylights out of them, just make sure you have enough proof to validate your claims (thus the recording of the barking), stop this people!!!!
i had the same problem we had neighbors that breed dogs and man they are the noiseist things they kept me awake along *** time. we actually got sick of it and called the police cause my family was that annoyed and when the police officer showed up and said hey this has got to stop they kept track and said you need to put something around those dogs mouths or put them in your house so no one can hear you and well they did just that. but i would really think you should tell them that you can't take it anymore or even better when there not around kill the dog joking but thats an option to
all you can do is get a lawyer and press charges against your neighbors for harassment and stuff like that. that's really all you can do to make them stop. take them to court!
Firstly, acknowledge that you should not approach these people yourself. Definitely sue them for slander, with proof by photos of the poster, police reports, and character references to support that you are a respected member of the neighbourhood.
I repeat, donot talk to them as they sound like they could seriously harm you; they are acting very irrationally towards you.
Also get some legal advice if you wish.
This is what we call as noise pollution. Disturbing the peace at night. Report police with this accusation. Maybe you can get a lawyer to sue them. This is the best solution. If the police don't do anything sue the police.
I have known nurses and cops who weren't stand up citizens myself. Since he is a cop, you should get legal advice on how to deal with this, since in addition to having connections, he probably knows the law and ways to go around the system. Slander and libel often go unpunished, and perhaps he expects to get away with it. Perhaps the girlfriend did it without consulting him as well. Document everything, and get witnesses. A family member can be a witness, but it's even better if another neighbor can corroborate your claims.
Keep calling the cops, press charges for the libel, and get a restraining order against them.
If you call the cops every night, eventually these people will be taken care of.
