Where can you take a stress test?!

Question: I don't mean one of those pointless online questionaires.

I'm not quite sure what you mean when you say "stress test" because to me that means the test where you run on a treadmill and a Dr. measures your heart rate, blood pressure, etc.

Since you're asking this in the mental health section, then I would assume you're talking about a test to find out how stressed you are.

There isn't actually a specific test for this sort of thing, rather you would go to a Dr. (general practitioner is fine) and tell them what you're FEELING and most likely they would ask you to fill out some questionnaires that would determine if you have anxiety or depressed that is stress-related. If you feel that you need help because you're having anxiety or depression from stress, then this would be the place to go.

However, if you're just feeling a bit more overwhelmed than usual, your best bet would be to just read some books or online articles about relaxation techniques.

Alternatively, you could find a place that has a biofeedback machine. My university mental health center has one, but I've never used it. Some Drs. office's might have them, or more new-agey or holistic type practitioners. It involves little sensors on your forehead or fingers that measure tension or pulse rate. The machine gives you feedback (maybe by beeping) to make you aware of the tension or pulse rate. Then you try to do something to lower it, such as deep breathing until the beeping slows down. This way you can train yourself to take action when you feel stressed by consciously relaxing.

The dr can do it for u.

just drive though the city
