I have been in recovery for an addiction for two months now, going to meetings e!

Question: I attend two meetings a week in the evening as well. I lost my job because of my addiction, and am trying to rebuild my relationship with my wife.
I have been offered an excellent paying job that would require me to miss my meetings in the morning and work and commute 12 hours a day. I really need this job, but I am scared to death what this will do to me in terms of stress and loss of 12-step support. I am running out of money. What do you think I should do?

Put yourself in the back pocket of a really good sponsor, and get his phone number where you can reach him anytime. Also, carry program literature with you to read while you commute (if you're driving, see if your sponsor can find some program audio tapes or CD's to listen to).

All the high-paying jobs in the world won't keep you clean if you don't continue to work your program. If you MUST take the job, begin work on a Fourth Step as soon as possible. I wish you joy in your journey, and success in your efforts.

take the job, you are a new person, u seeked help, u tooked help, now u dont need help. believe in yourself, u know u can do it

Meetings are not only in the city you live in. there will be some where you start your new job.. You may only get to do part while on your lunch break and that is okay. If you keep commuting you never know you will probably find many people in the twelve step program easily. Finding out is as simple as asking if they know :Bill, sorry I forgot his last name. Take the Job.... you still have meeting in the evening and a sponsor just a phone call away.
