Question: it is in the failmys mom's and dad's

Answers: it is in the failmys mom's and dad's

Go to another doctor, you need to be comforatable with your Dr., my son had severe ADHD as a child, hyper as could be and would not focus on schoolwork only what interested him, now he is 17 and has outgrown it (1/3 goes into adulthood) now he is as mellow as can be and an extremely good artist.

He is not an experienced doctor, go and see a Psychiatrist. If a Psychiatrist has done this he has kept the gardian in dark which is against the rule and ethics.

if you realy have strong concerns, then see another doctor. However, don't be going to docs looking for a diagnosis; just because the parents had it doesn't mean the child does.

Find another doctor. Preferably one where your relatives with it go to. If not, check around with friends and other parents who kids have it. My granddaughter was in 10th grade before they got someone to beleive them. What a waste of time. She is doing great now.

If the doctor "won't tell you", perhaps that's because the doctor doesn't think there is ADHD. And there is actually considerable doubt about the validity of such a 'diagnosis' anyway - see http://www.psychminded.co.uk/news/news20...

The fact that something is 'in the family' does not mean it's genetic. It could be a learned behaviour in response to family patterns of relating. In which case, the usual drug treatment (which has massive side-effects) would be positively abusive, when what is really needed is psychological help. Please read the book chapter I've referenced before making assumptions about your child.

How old is the child? Teachers usually assess each student for things such as autism, adhd, or other behaviors(especially in primary education) that may need more attention or a different teaching approach. I would not look to a teacher for a final opinion, but experienced teachers who have watched hundreds or thousands of children 7 hours a day can usually spot signs in children.
A good starting point and good information if you feel your child needs further assessment from a psychologist.
