Is it possible to have a short attention span without having ADD?!

Question: because i know my dad has add hes getting distracted all the time and i tell him to pay attention and im not like that. but when it comes to reading long paragraphs and focusing in on the words i feel like i have a short attention span.

yes.People may think a diffrent way without having ADD. I have studied this in my collage class.
