Yes. Many people take a combination of two or more psychotropic meds as they act on different receptors.

My psychiatrist prescribed me prozac and Wellbutrin together. She said they had different effects. So yes, they can be combined.

Wellbutrin is often combined with medications like zoloft and lexapro. They increase levels of different brain chemicals (wellbutrin norepi and dopamine- the other two serotonin) and can work synergistically to help you get better. It makes sense to use them together. Using medicines like lexapro and zoloft that work in similar ways together makes less sense. In that case you would be doubling the same mechanism of action (serotonin) and likely get more side effects than efficacy (i.e. you can only increase serotonin so much before it causes side effects). It is a way that we can use to increase your odds of getting better more quickly. Wellbutrin can also be used to offset some of the side effects that SSRIs like lex and zoloft can have (i.e. sexual dysfunction).

This is a common and accepted combination.

yes.my dr had my on a combination of wellbutrin and paxil for awhile.
