Is the only treatment for post traumatic stress disorder therapy or counseling?!

Question: is there any other way, something that can be done without meds or therapy or psychiatrist?

I think it helps to have someone to love you through it. Whether that's an understanding friend or family member, it's very good to have personal support and a listening ear.

Counseling is generally helpful. Medication can be helpful in some circumstances, but is not always needed or beneficial.

Basically, what a therapist would be doing is helping you process what has happened to you. There is a part of that which you can't duplicate on your own: having another person's perspective, especially their educated perspective.

But you can do a lot on your own by reading books about recovering from PTSD &/or books about others who have been through trauma similar to yours. Write out your thoughts and emotions in a journal.

You may also benefit from watching movies about people who have been through trauma, but take it easy--don't re-traumatize yourself! Love yourself and be sensitive to your needs as you're working through this.

Each person is made up of body, mind and spirit. Minister to each aspect of yourself in the healing process. Each part can affect the other, and each probably needs healing.

For the spiritual aspect, I suggest watching Joyce Meyer. She doesn't usually deal with trauma specifically, but her commonsense advice and honesty make her a joy to watch, and very beneficial for managing life in general.

...marijuana works for me

Yes a support group would help, you can tell your story and/or listen to others so you wont feel so 'alone'.

I also have PTSD, and have for the past 8 years. I like you did not want to go through the therapy and medications to control all of the symptoms that are related to this disorder. I hate to say that I have found nothing in these past 8 years that has really helped...not even the therapy and medications. Group therapy may be an option for you, it is the one thing I haven't tried, as I can't find groups in my area. The thing that has gotten me through all this time is my husband, and....me. I face my problems head on...I haven't always done this, but it helps me...when I get into a flash back, I get panicky, I call on my husband for help...he keeps me grounded in reality...not in the flash back...really the only way to see what really works for you is to try different things.

Meditation works, as does journaling. If cost is an issue and that is why you are hesitant to seek therapy or medication, then look into group therapy options. There are often groups that meet and discuss PTSD issues and experiences. It's free and very helpful. I have this disorder myself and I found that educating myself and attending group and individual therapy helped me the most.
Try to only use medication as a last resort.
You can change your brain's chemistry without a drug--seriously. Research the disorder; there are many, many great articles and lots of wonderful information out there. Having a greater understanding of the disorder you have is very empowering and can go a long way towards helping you feel more at peace with yourself and your surroundings.

Self healing is an endeavor worth pursuing, on mental physical and emotional levels. EFT is a great technique, (google it), it involves self-administered acupressure.
especially good for emotional balancing.

Follow your in breath and outbreath when you are anxious.
There are many breathing techniques, but it only really comes back to truly feeling your breath and being with it. When in doubt or pain, just go to your next breath, ride it in and ride it out. If your mind goes crazy as you relax, just let it do what it wants without attaching any importance to its rants.See your thoughts as clouds passing through your mind.
