How can you enjoy life..when you suffer from anxiety?!

Question: hello~

i ask myself that question a lot. i've been suffering from depression for most of my life (i'm 26 now) and i have moments/days when i feel more anxious than i would like to. to live with depression and/or anxiety makes it really difficult to experience all the things that i wish i could. sometimes i feel so alienated from other people, including myself, if that makes any sense. sometimes i feel such contempt and jealousy for those who go through life without the slightest of worries. i've tried to carry on like that, but i always end up reverting back to the person i truly am, and have been for a very long time. regardless of what anyone may say, most of the time it's incredibly hard to just "smile" or "cheer up". it's especially difficult to stop worrying. i am struggling with such negative and mind-numbing emotions every day, so i know how you feel. i do wish you the best, and i hope that one day it's easier for all of us to deal.

i would like to know the answer to this question myself because it fits me to a "T"

Hang around positive people. That's something I wish I did more with my anxiety.

get a hobby, I got a dog, we walk several times a day. but i also stopped smoking last april 2007

find activities that'll give you more confidence.
Such as join Creative groups such as art or drama etc etc.
You'll learn to concentrate on what your doing and forget about others. It works for me anyway.

If you really are having trouble controlling your anxiety, then you should seek help from a md.....he or she would probably will prescribe you some ativan or something similar to help you calm down.

you don't have to live with anxiety. find a natural care practioner and he will treat you using natural stuff. www.naturalcures.com

Better living through chemistry. Anti-anxiety medications exist for a reason. So people like you and I can live relatively normal lives, enjoy our lives and stop worrying. I've been on various medications for 25 years now, and it's been the difference between night and day.

focus on good things

I suffer from stress and I take Ativan but only at night.
I live life as it comes and pray.

You challenge your anxiety and try to ease it. I don't know how you couldn't challenge it and just allow yourself to live in fear?
