Can an alcoholic recover without hitting 'rock bottom'?!
Question: I have heard it from many people who are not alcoholics ( and read opinions from'experts') that an alcoholic can only recover if they have hit rock bottom and lost everything. I am an alcoholic and have just stopped drinking whilst perched on the very edge of losing everything, but I am concerned that nobody seems to believe this is possible.
I cannot tell you how hard it is to admit this.
One of my uncles did it many years ago so am I right to say !*&%
