yes

YES! If you think you are depressed, talk to your doctor and/or a good counsellor right away, OK?

Yes depression can affect you in so many physical ways such as lack of sleep, general aches and pains and lethargy.

yes, the mind is a powerful thing!

that's what it does! it also make you not give a damn about anyone- yourself or others. Eventually, you'll find yourself in a dark abyss, no light, no hope, no companion, just you, yourself, all alone, and the endless warps of the mind like some 8 track tape whirling around over and over, and over. Pain will be your comforter, and damnation your redemption, and if you have any control over it, a dark dank dungeon at the farthest reaches of hell will be your reward when you die.

One day you'l crawl out and the light will get to you. Maybe you'll crawl back to the abyss for solice...

depression is caused by an imbalance of serotonin, that is not enough serotonin to wash over the brain which is essential to mental health. it does make you feel weak. it is not a question of giving in to the depression, it is a question of seeking professional help to ease the depression. people who tell you that you are bad, and deserve punishment, are just blowing hot air. they have no concept of what they are talking about, and ignorantly give out their opinions. some claim they know all about it. if they say snap out of it, or you will be punished, or you will go to hell, where you deserve to go because you have this depression are the self proclaimed preaching junk. their place is in hell, if someone doesn't begin to pray for them. i will. will you? please get help good luck

OMG yes!

And what someone said about going to a counsellor....

Don't bother, it creates more harm than good in the long run.

Yeah it can and its offically called 'psychomotor disturbance'. It happens mostly with melancholic or psychotic depression (therefore more biological in its nature). With melancholic and pyschotic depressions, mood disturabance is usually more severe than those people suffering other types depressions. One of these symptoms is psychomotor disturbance, where the sufferer's movements become slowed and/or agitated, and they have trouble concentrating. Many people describe an inability at such times to get out of bed, to fire up and do basic chores - thus, a very physical state.

Yes. That's why I slept all the time when I had it.
