Has a therapist helped you?!

Question: If so, how? I think I REALLY need one...not sure.

It helps to talk about wats on ur mind. I was not ok with talking to shrink cause i felt like he's a stranger who only cares that at the end of the hr he gets paid and not really about my probs since all i did was sit there talking and all he had to say was "so how did that make u feel" after everything i said.

It was way better talking to a school councellor since i fel supported and i got feed back which helped me in the long run.

never needed one

yes but they can only HELP you , you need to do the work, they are not mind readers

Yes. She helped me get through the roughest time in my life. She was someone who listened. We practiced exercises in the office to incorporated in my day to day life. I still use them now and I saw her back in 2001.

yes...therapists (psychologists) ask a lot of questions to make you think and make you figure out your problems for yourself. They never tell you what to do, it's your choice. I went to one for determining which career I should choose, and another for when I had a divorce. If you ask the therapist they will tell you your options. If you have a problem that you feel halts you from moving forward they can help you.

Hi--Yes, my past therapist was my life. I miss her SOOOO much, but she was considered a resident/fellow so she had to move on....

Mine has helped me a TON. I have been thru alot in the last two years. I would certainly save she saved my life. Literally

i do not need one.
