Help with this weird feeling I have?!

Question: Hey there, so lately I've been feeling down in the dumps, I suppose it's just hormones, but tomorrow is the one year anniversary of my daddy's death, he was killed in a car crash, so it's hard. So I'm thinking that is contributing to this weird feeling i have been feeling lately, it's like I feel worthless, like I'm not good for anything, I'm struggling with my weight right now, i'm not like really over weight, but i'm not the perfect stick either or anything. so that might be it, and i've just been not myself, any ideas on how to make myself feel better? it's been going on for about a week now, i've been diagnoised with depression, so that is probably settling in, i don't take anything for it, just any advice to make me feel better?

Sorry to hear about your dad.
Now pick out your most upbeat song. Turn it up loud and sing
and dance yourself into a better mood. Works for me.

Donuts.
It worked for me.

First of all let me say i'm sorry about your father, it must be really rough. second, you need to start having fun and living your life to the fullest. Life is too short to be worrying, sad, depressed all the time. Go out, have fun, live life without regrets. I used to feel depressed too, you'll get over it, it's temporary. If your depression continues, go to your doctor and ask for a prescriptive drug.

If you feel your weight is the problem, message me i'm very good with fitness/health related questions. i'm 17 and a teenage bodybuilder so whatever you need i'll help you with.

God bless,
John

U need a girls night... ecspecially on Vday! Get all your closest gal pals together get tons of junk and watch old corny romantic movies... Dirty Dancing, Sleepless in Seatlle... those are good ones... Then You guys can hang out a bit at the gym working the junk off... at least then you would be out and about and not feeling worthless

The anniversary of the death of your Father is certainly playing a big part in your worsening depression...if you've been diagnosed with depression, why aren't you on medication and/or in therapy? If there ever was a time in your life that you needed this, it would be now...tomorrow is going to be a rough day for you, my friend, and I am so sorry you ;lost your Dad so suddenly. Please get some help tomorrow. Do it for your Dad. KJL

I understand about losing a parent, I lost my mom when I was 15. It was around that time I was diagnosed with my panic attack disorder. I never took meds cause I don't know why but it followed me into my adulthood and now at the age of 25 almost 26 i have learned that my panic attacks turned into depression. I got antidepressant meds from my doctor and I feel better. Maybe you should go to your doctor and ask to be put on antidepressants. It might help you feel better.

so sorry about your dad, but it seem that you are trying to deal with a whole lot at once ,slow down , get your self together deal with one thing at a time . good luck to you andGOD bless

typical at anniversaries of loved ones death Absolutely normal Try griefnet.org(i think that's it) for shat with others going thru same Oh you may need to re visit the doctor depression usually recurrs within one year if you g off the meds too soon. You may need a different one or just counseling
Do something good for yourself like a massage- haircut-manicure-a walk- a funny movie. Have a cry its OK
You'll feel better soon
The hurt doesn't go away but you'll feel stronger little by little about it

are you feeling weird because you have some extra pounds?or do you have some extra pounds because you feel weird?first of all you need to leave the apperance part aside.besause you are anxious about that now,if you are in yours teens, better yet pre teens, its natural and common to add up some weight, and even exagurate with how you see yourself.dont seek for flaws in yourself to make you feel even worse.do you go out often?take time to chill out and be with friends?find yourself some real good friend you can rely on ad dont offend you.find someone you can share everything and that someone can share things wth you.if someone hurts you or makes you feel bad, leave right away.but most important, love yourself.if you dont love yourself dont expect anyone else to.

Hi Emily,
I agree that memories of last year are rearing up in your subconscious and conscious brain. Sorry about your dad's passing.

If you've been coping with depression without drugs, that is good. Seeing a psychiatrist regularly is definitely a good non-medical alternative.

You may wish to augment that with any or all of the following:
1. guided imagery
2. biofeedback
3. hypnosis
4. aromatherapy
5. yoga
6. meditation
7. acupuncture
8. massage
9. herbal remedies

Hope these ideas help.
