Is anyone out there the sole caregiver for an Alzheimer's pt?!
Question: Please tell me how you deal with it.I have never been lazy but now i have my mother in law living with us and i'm her sole care giver i can't do anything.She is a level 6 so i do everything.she has to be feed,cleaned,try to walk her but she is getting to be a total lift.We make out ok,what my problem is is me....i dont do anything anymore,have to make myself clean house,wash clothes ect.I was working 12 hours a day and got more done than i do now and im at home 24/7......

hi there sweetie. i am not now,but my sister and i cared for my grandmother for 2 years at home with it and yes it's very hard.especially since she was my best friend.we also had home health care come in to help every other day for certain things,but we cleaned her bed sores and put opsites on her ripped skin,fed her,bathed her,etc.went to seminars,i could go on and but there is way to much. be strong,have faith,and you don't say if there are any other family members to help you out because your personal down time is very important. you can e-mail me to. i will answer.i put you on my contact list if that was ok.
I do agree with "Just me".She aso happens to be a very dear friend of mine. She will write you back my friend. Why don't you ask the family for some help luv as well? Your doing a great job. Just please don't lose your patent's with yourself or her. o.k.
