Has anyone ever felt like they never really been happy, or at least not for a ve!

Question: People with clinical depression go through these streaks. That's different than the depression you might feel if you suffer a loss, such as a boy/girlfriend, or a divorce, or the loss of a job. Those are things that are depressing to everyone.

Clinical depression means there is a chemical imbalance in the brain fluid which doesn't allow the brain to properly process "information" that passes through. The resultant symptom of this chemical imbalance is depression.

See a physician for a general checkup, and see a psychotherapist who will know how to evaluate you and see if you need depression treatment. There are many medications and behavior therapies available, and they work. The key is: you have to work at it. If you do, you can be happy again.

I have felt like that for the past 10 years atleast. I dont think i even know what happy is.

me

Yeah. I had depression most of my life. My problem was low self esteem and lack of direction. Answering questions on here opened my eyes to what it is I want to do with my life. I haven't been depressed since.

well i felt it like that for long time but now i am good

yup. unfortunately i have intermittent bouts of depression & constant generalized anxiety.

i have sunnybeams problem too but i haven't worked it out yet. that doesn't help my situation any. i think i may need to go back on zoloft til i get back to "normal"

I haven't been happy since I was a little kid. Even then I don't know if I was really happy.

The reason people are unhappy is because they have all sorts of demands on this moment. If they'd have no demand on this moment, they'd be happy.

That's a very common feeling for people who are suffering from dysthima or chronic depression. It's something that you should talk to someone about, if you are diagnosed with it things can get better. They may never be totally great but they can get better if you're willing to do the work and to possibly use medications. You really need to talk to a psychiatric professional and get evaluated. Than you can come up with a realistic treatment plan and hopefully get you on the road to feeling better. But chronic depression is just that chronic it will be something that you're dealing with the rest of your life, so be prepared for that.
