Wellbutrin...not working??!

Question: I'm taking wellbutrin 150 mg a day.....I have slight decreased appetite, constipation, energy spurts off and on through out the day but almost always have to take a short nap because i'm so tired, social anxiety, mood swings, crazy itching from scalp to feet that has decreased as i've been taking the pill daily, i've been on it so far going on two weeks....and i'm wondering if maybe i :

1.need more time to allow it to work,
2. increase the dosage or
3.try something else.

I feel like i'm energized in the morning and by the time the afternoon comes im so sleepy and i usually end up taking a nap because i'm so sleepy. I havent noticed any weight loss yet and part of the my depression stems from my weight because i used to be on cymbalta and it made me gain so much weight :(.....i just usually here that wellbutrin is supposed to keep you up at night and help you lose weight and my side effects are nothing like that...

it could take up to 6 weeks to fully work. i mixed wellbutrin with lamictil and luvox. in a months time an unbelievable calm came over me. give it more time. you'll be fine.

When I took Wellbutrin it increased my depression to the point where I would just sit and cry all day for no reason. My son did not tolerate it well either

Definitly talk to your presrciber. Sounds like you need to wait it out. I was dizzy the first couple of days i was on it and had no appetite. Lexapro plus wellbutrin is working pretty well for me. But dont listen to people here. Call your doc. only they know your medical needs.

Yikes. I actually just started taking wellbutrin Saturday. I am on 150 MG twice a day, but both my mother and sister were on it for extended periods of time. It worked for them, and they didn't have any of those symptoms. You may want to ask your doctor about switching you to something else. SSRIs - Zoloft, Paxil, Lexapro, etc are really good if you don't want to gain weight. They surpress your appetite and also have been shown to be most effective in women anyways (they say men are better off with imiprimine).

Anyways, I am always dizzy, can't sleep, have mood swings, frequent panic attacks now (I RARELY had them before), the shakes, etc. I was just taken off of Zoloft about a week and a half ago b/c of suicidal thoughts related to the drug, so I'm hoping that what I am experiencing is just a huge chemical imbalance because of all the switching I've done in the last month.

They say symptoms generally go away after about a week. Since you've been on it more than that, I would highly recommend consulting your physican.

Is it name brand or generic? Generic Wellbutrin sucks.

i'm on a generic wellbutrin sr.....in the end its all the same
I've been on it for almost 3 months now and its starting to help a little bit. I didn't have any of those symptoms. It just keeps me up sometimes.
You need to talk to the doctor who prescribed it to you. It may not be the drug for you. Some people try a few meds b4 they find the right one. From what I have heard from other people the 1st two weeks of an antidepressant can be the worst, thats when the side effects come out
