I know exactly what you're talking about, because a few years ago, I suffered a period of continual insomnia, and each night, I expected I wouldn't sleep, thought it would be with me, indefinitely. One of my concerns, was what was on my mind, before I went to sleep, I thought it would affect the quality of my sleep. Don't worry, it shouldn't matter what's on your mind, before you sleep, just be patient, and eventually your body will catch up with your hours of lost sleep, and your next sleep will be deeper, and heavier.

Try to form a sleep schedule and use there tips on the following article. May it helps.

You have a doc? Get one. You need to sleep. The doc will suggest Xanax....it works. Good luck!
Until I got a family doc..I was sleeping 2 hrs tops. Then I wake up. The Xanax will relax you enough so that you can get to sleep. Start with the lowest dosage.
It has helped me to stay asleep longer. What a relief that is...I can not tell you.

I'm not a doctor or anything, but a small dosage of xanax will do the trick.

Personally, AmbienCR is a godsend. However, I wouldn't recommend *taking* something every night. Start off slow, and eventually your body will get into the habit of a full night's sleep.

Also, AmbienCR's message about only taking it when you know you can devote 7 or 8 hours to sleep -- they ain't joking. Consider this especially if you're a MEDICAL student.
