Does anyone know how long you can go without taking your bipolar meds before an !

Question: I've dropped severely after only 3 days and shot up high after 2 (this is when skipping ALL of my meds, not just one.) I am also pretty sensitive and on a good deal of medication. I cannot say the severity or longevity of these episodes, as once they were detected by doctors I was given crisis dosages of the meds, which killed the fires pretty quick.

As for your son (what is his name, by the way?) there are always the downtimes where everything sits idle. I have personally found that the greater the distance between my hypomanias, the more intense they become. My depression doesn't often diminish entirely, so no help there.

I hope he gets on his meds quick... I would love to talk with him via email or what not, but I suspect that would not go over all too well with him :)

if you stop taking it even for one day, you get very very very angry or depressed. 15%-20% of bipolar disorder sufferers commit suicide because they have not been on medication to help them with their problem....

it is never good to stop medicine abruptly, each medicine has different side effects and depending on the person it could be one day to one month... there is no def. and or correct answer to this question.

i can tell when i have not taken mine -- i can feel the withdraws in my body and it sends me into either a rage or deep depression --soo like 24 -48 hours i would say for me at least -- i go to www.bpbabble.com for help with my issues or just someone to talk to nice bunch of people there -- ging

some people that are bipolar can go for months without having an episode. others have to take there meds everyday. it depends on the degree of the person. take your meds even though you feel good. that is the reason you feel that way. if you go off of them you will have an episode sooner than later and you dont get anything from that. good luck.
