Have you known anyone who commited suicide?!

Question: If so, what was the reason that led to suicide?

Answers: If so, what was the reason that led to suicide?

Yes, in fact I have a history of suicides in my family. My Aunt accidentally killed herself in the mid 50's by trying to give herself an abortion. Our family is strict Roman Catholic and she did not want to have another child. It was a clothes hanger that did her in.She was 23.

My cousin hung himself in the carport of the apartment building he lived in. He had suffered from depression since he was a young boy. He died at 15.

Another cousin also suffered from severe depression and tried, unsuccessfully, to treat herself with drugs. She eventually overdosed on Rx pain killers and opiates. She was 32.

I have tried to commit suicide on January 29 2003. I took over 300 Ambien (sleeping pill) , 100 Lortab (pain killer), and about 50 Seroquel (sleeping pill). I have not taken them but continued to refill the RX.My wife found me unconscious and I was rushed to the hospital where I recovered fully. I have been diagnosed with severe depression and severe anxiety. I am currently seeing a therapist. I was 33 when I attempted. I am now divorced.

no but i know somebody who will very soon (me)

No

Yes. He was terminally ill and couldn't take it any longer. He left behind two boys and a wife.

No, but I know many people that are already dead inside. Many EXIST but few LIVE.

Yes.

Too much pressure from an incompetent supervisor (Army Corps of Engineers, CESPK-CO-RV)

a friend of mine in the eighties jumped from the top floor of a car park at manchester airport,he was depressed.still miss him to this day.

When I was in the 6th and 7th grade there was two high school boys that hung themselves over girls. Stupid reason and I am a girl.

Yes!!! My cousin's grandfather shot himself in his house in 06. I am not sure why, but I think it was A) Alcohol(he was a hard drinker), B) Debt or C)Depressed. It very well could have been all three... :P

yes, stress of life and people that really dont care to get to know people and just push and push till they go right off the mental cliff. people just dont care much any more about anyone they dont know.

I think it's stupid for guys to kill themselves over girls- no girl is worth as much as that. Anyways I know a few people who considered suicide but didn't actually do it.

seeing no purpose in living, feeling life is one big pointless cycle. finding no purpose as for why one exists and what is his job in this world.

You know, I have not known anyone who has commited suicide. Unless their families are not telling the truth, but I knew four people...
This one chill guy who was in a serious car crash, reported brain dead.
This one pretty and popular girl who had ovarian cancer.
Two guys who were killed due to gang related shootings.

I knew 3 people who did it.
The first heard voices so his pastor told him it was demons and he should pray. What he really needed was psychiatric help.
The second one is a mystery to me. He had it all except a wife or steady girlfriend.
The third was torn between his wife and his lover.

Yes, at least 6. Low self esteem, and depression.
Problem was it left all of us and their families devastated and picking up the pieces.

A friend from elementary school committed suicide when he was in middle school. His mom and his brother used to beat on him and father was out of the picture. He started giving his possessions away to us and then we found out that he hung himself with a sheet at his home.
With my mental illness, before I found out what I had, when I was at work, I tried desperately to commit suicide because I hated work and life and I didn't care anymore about anything or anyone.
