of course, physical pain is usually not the one that gets most people you can recover from most physical pain. Even mental pain can be overcome by most, But when you get into emotion pain it generally manifests itself into the subconscious and the person may never recover. Usually most things stem from upbringing and childhood, if I know a few things about people I can almost instantly tell them about how they were raised

YES... easily. I have a Minor Degree in Psychology and I have the ability to quickly understand what a person is thinking or feeling and, especially... what they are trying to hide.
I have the ability to either go for that thing which will motivate them to do better... or to leverage against that thing they fear the most and use it to destroy them.

Yes, this is called "emotional abuse". Consistantly putting someone down, degrading them, etc can/does serious problems. It drives people into depression, and sometimes to suicide.

do you mean hurt them emotionally with your words? That's easy, just find out what they love and cherish the most and attack it with your words.
Or do you mean somehow hurting them physically, but you don't physically touch them, like a voodoo curse, where you think them into a bad accident or disease?? Now that would be very very evil >:/
