Seizure from lack of sleep or video games?!

Question: My 19 year old son had a 1st seizure ever the other day. He plays a lot of video games and stays up late. I am thinking it may be related. The test have shown nothing yet. We are having more test in March. Have any of you ever had something like this happen from video games or lack of sleep and what did you do?

The best thing to do is take him to a neurologist and have an EEG done. Lack of sleep, stress, video games, hormones and many other things can cause seizures. Certain drugs taken in excess can also cause them.

No but still. I advise that you make sure your son gets enough sleep and lays back on the video games. There have been several stories about people that played to many video games for to long and died.

I personally went 4 nights straight with no sleep, and by the 4th day, I was incoherently speaking, and felt 'seizurish'.

(no video game playing though)

I would say it would have to be a SERIOUS lack of sleep to cause a seziure. (10 nights is typically fatal), a few hours here and there, I don't think so.

(and my personal experience with no sleep, started out as a dare/bet, then my mom ended up in the hospital, (and I was 12 hours away.....bad timing...)

But i did win the bet.
