My roommate talks and laughs to herself.?!

Question: How can you get away from a roommate who talks and laughs to herself? I know she is sick and has a mental illness, but, its hard to escape it especially when my agitation kicks in. I guess I could take some Xanax but I know that its not the answer to everything. I have tried my headset, or, putting my music or television up loud to cover her babbling. Any other ideas?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

i have a friend who talks to herself. for some people its completely normal but in ur situation and mine its not. i blast my iPod as loud as it will go like u but im sorry i dont have any other ideas. sorry hun.

LOL, im rly sorry, but LOL

well, if you don't mind leaving your place for a little while, when you get agitated, go to the park, or to a quiet coffee shop. but if you don't feel like leaving seriously think about getting a pair of noise canceling headphones. i dont know what kind of headset you have, but i have a pair of noise cancellers, and they really do work wonders. you wont hear a thing, you'll just see some crazy A** person babbling to herself.

Give her the Xanax in a drink or something then you might get a good nights sleep.

Sorry to sound so cruel.

Speak with the roommate. Explain that when you are studying you need ABSOLUTE SILENCE. So, maybe she can schedule hours with you when she is home and doing whatever she pleases, and in the same day, you would schedule an equal number of hours when the house will be silent - maybe when she's at work. (Turning up your music can be counter productive for a person who is easily distracted, as it gives your brain too much to deal with at one time)

SCHIZOPHRENIA. Please stop her before it is too late.
