Doomed to depression?!

Question: I've had severe depression since I was about 12 or 13. I'm 20 now, and although this is certainly a trying time of life, nothing really bad has happened to me over the years and I have supportive family and friends.

I've been on and off a bunch of different medications, and although they help, I don't like the idea of depending on them forever. What's the real solution? Some say 'change of lifestyle' helps, but I'm not even sure how to do that. How do I choose what I want to change to? How do I know it will help?

i have the same problem , which is not wantin to depend on meds for the rest of my life, and i do believe that i can do it on my own, but sadly it is way too hard without them than with them.
i would suggest u try to keep urself busy during ur depression, cuz its what i do and it works most of the time..im still trying to find the right meds cuz none of the others helped me , but if urs is going good for u then i think u should stick to them.

Well, everyone is different. I got off meds too. For me, the side effects were harder on me than the symptoms to begin with. Really all it boils down to is how do you feel about yourself? What makes you happy? You can't spend your life trying to make others around you happy, unless that's what gives you joy. Search deep within yourself, and be real about what's going on there. Keep a journal daily for about 7 days. Then read it back and see what triggerd the depression and what triggered the good feelings. You and only you can change. You will know it helps when you start seeing and feeling yourself smile more. Good luck.

Are you saved?
Many people are depressed and they don't like to acknowledge that, when they know that they are going to hell.
It's free and simple to get saved and it will make you feel a lot better.
Just believe in Jesus Christ.
Repent - ask Jesus to forgive you and save you.
Then ask anything you want for God to help you with and He will either say no, yes, or wait.
You can also make sure that you are feeding your body the right and good vitamins (fruits, vegetables, seeds, pure water, organic and fresh)
and make sure that you avoid this: white sugar, hydrogenated fats, aspartame, any coloring in foods - like "red 40", white breads, and many more microwaveable foods.
thank you for your time
:)
