What brand of St. Johns Wort works the best?!

Question: I know this is not what you are asking but if it is going to be used for depression I found that Sam-e works better than St. johns Wort. I find that Costco has the best prices and good quality for these types of supplements. Good luck.

I have tried St. Johns Wort, but it did not help with my depression. I hope that you get the relief that you are hoping for. "AMORYN", may be a good brand.

I used this brand, and I had very good effects:

The key is to get a brand that standardizes for hypericin (0.3% is normal), since this is one of most important chemicals in SJW that gives it its psychological effects.

I would say suck it and see!
Thee are so many methods of cultivation, selection, preparation, and processing - that no two producers are the same.

I strongly believe in the magical application of herbs - and they must be gathered on the right moon phase - after first warning the plant several days in advance. This will yield the maximum benefit.
Forcefed plants cut at the wrong time, left to dry too long in sunlight, ground to dust and stored badly may only be 10% efficient.

Unless you visit a local witch, you'd best just try different types.
St. johns wort takes at least a month and a half to bring you up into a "surfing" mentality - you won't go too far down - but ride waves instead. No side effects as far as I'm aware.
Do not stop taking them if you think you feel fine again - 3 days and you will notice a difference of "clouds gathering"
Sort the undrlying problems out before stopping. Missing a couple of doses has no effect.

Blessings.

it's supposed to be the arial (sp?) part of the plant. I think this means the flowering portion.
If it doesn't say that, it means they are chopping up stems and dead leaves, and you're not getting the full benefit.
You're also supposed to look for the 0.3% hypercrecium (sp?) or whatever it's called.
