Best way to keep AWAKE all night for a BIG EXAM? i wanna review loads of my subj!

Question: It's just that I was so busy fixing some important personal matters in my life I underestimated the list of subject for our impending exam!

I know I might end up bit lethargic for the examination day itself, but at least I would still be able to answer questions... and not be guilty that i didn't do anything.

What should I eat? drink? do? to keep me stimulated and not doze off during my review?

I dont want any illegal drugs okay (",)

My friend told me that energy drinks + ginseng is effective, i also wanna know if that's accurate...

Am unaware of the idea of linking being awake all night and then expecting to be at one's best in the am.

You might consider getting some sleep (vs none) and perhaps getting up at 3 am.

Coffee - caffeine compounds - work a little for some persons (not everyone).

Sometimes course materials can be quite long and it may be unlikely you could review everything prior to the exam. Depends on the classes taken. Good luck.

caffeine

What kind of an exam is it? If it's something that requires any higher thinking skills I'd recommend not staying up all night. If you can sleep for two or three hours, and then get up and study in the "morning," that is probably best.

But if you have your heart set on staying up, consume a lot of protein, keep yourself hydrated, and don't use caffeine, ginseng, or anything else until you absolutely NEED it. You gotta be disciplined. Especially if you don't want to be at the point where nothing helps you perk up when the exam rolls around.

Pseudo ephedrine ("Sudafed" -- the real stuff that you have to get from behind the counter now) may also help.

Also, stay active. Take breaks every now and then to keep your body stimulated.

Good luck!

(But please consider a quick nap, especially if this is a physics exam or something like that).

stay awake pills, they're amazing

Getting plenty of sleep is the best way to get ready for a test. If you must stay up and cram, I suggest no-doz. Otherwise, ephedrine will also work but can be addicting and have harsh side effects. If you're gonna do energy drinks, try Snapple Elements because they work well and taste like fruit juice.

Cramming for a test the night before statistically gives lower test scores because you can't think as quickly during the test. the most effective way of studying is to re-read everything several times throughout your study session. Also take 5-10 minutes breaks when you find yourself losing focus. This stuff was in a clinical study and improved what you can recall on a test.

Energy drinks with ginseng do NOTHING for me. 5 hour energy is what i take if i need to stay awake. Well, vault with five hour energy poured into it (actually tastes really good).

If you are desperate, you could take Aderall. It's a prescription ADHD drug that dramatically improves your focus and energy (in non-ADHD individuals). I've never taken it myself, but a few friends have had good succes with it. As far as legality...It's prescription only, but it's not a narcotic or a barbituate or anything like what illegal drugs normally are. To me it's about as bad as taking a prescription antibiotic...

Hoped i've helped you. I've been in your situation more times than i should have been.
if this is a critical exam for you and you decide you

For your best performance: get more than 1/2 of your regular amount of sleep.
Better to study an hour or 2 longer than usual - sleep - get up early for more study, than to try to go all through the night.

There are over the counter pills that keep you awake. You can find tham at any CVS or Sav On-any pharmacy or drug store. Ultra Pep- Back is a product my boyfriend has taken before that is easy on the body and work, according to him. Best of luck :)
