How do you help yourself if you dont know how too?!

Question: help me to find myself please

Answers: help me to find myself please

Think about who you are, what you want, what makes YOU happy.
I'm in the process of finding my true self. All my life i've been 'the daughter', 'the sister', 'the friend', 'the nanny', 'the person that pleases others not herself'.
Now, in the midst of depression, i'm realising (with the help of medical staff) that it's ok to think of 'me' for once. To focus on MY needs, to put myself first. I'm learning not to sacrifice my happiness for others (sure, this is ok some of the time, but I was doing it with 100% dedication to others.)
The only person that can find 'you' is you. (but there's nothing wrong with getting a bit of help from a counsellor)
Good Luck to YOU

Well, I guess that you should try to find out what are your needs and your wants. And... I don't know , maybe you should talk to someone close to you that can listen and give you some good advices ;)

you'll have to decide what needs changing and improving first.
sit down and think about what you could do differently, then take one step at a time to make a change.
but, things will only change if you put the effort in. noone ever got anything by just wishing for it.

You go to someone that makes it their business to help people in your situation. Contact your local mental health clinic and make an appointment with them to see if you could benefit from their services. What could it hurt? Everything is done on a voluntary basis. If you feel they aren't helping you you can stop using them any time you want.
Good luck.

Sometimes not such an easy thing to do. Some of it will depend on the people in your life and what they think of you.
Not so much as if they like you or not, but what talents they might think you have.
Once people have gotten to know you in one way, it is not so easy to get them to consider you as a person with different interests. Pretty much, everybody is that way, including us.
Sometimes, the work people do might not suit them. But changing fields can be difficult. Sometimes people will find a hobby that they can enjoy.
That allows a person either to be more productive with their time and/or be in a group activity.
Slowing down ones own life sometimes helps them to see they already have a decent life, they just haven't been taking the time to relax and enjoy it.
What has helped me in my own life is exercising (self discipline, staying in shape), learning (read an occasional book) and when all else fails, I have my hobby which I can pursue.
Sometimes life doesn't go our way.Myself, I've come close to having a more permanent situation in life, but it seems that other people sometimes aren't to concerned about how what they do affects others.
Everybody deals with this on a different level, but knowing what you would like to get out of life helps.
