Couseling is confidential. She does not have to be there in the room during your session. You can insist upon it.

You can go to a school councelor, or call a suicide help line, and they can tell you what to do.

I highly reccomend just telling your mom. Its not going to be as bad as you think. I felt the same way. My parents wanted to be a part of my recovery, and Im so glad I told them. Your mom wants to help you, you just have to tell her how. She cant help you if she doesnt know whats wrong.

Contact your school counselor or psychiatrist and ask for a privacy policy in which the information stays between you and your counselor. It's also highly likely that the town or community in which you live has a department of behavioral health. If you contact them and tell them your situation, they should be able to help you.

Good luck though. I've been seeing them since I was 12.

Your mother will have to know you are seeing a counselor, as more then likely she is the one that is going to have to pay for it; however, she DOES NOT have to be in the counseling sessions; and whatever you say to them, they are required by Law not to tell her any thing you say, or they can loose their license. You are NOT required to tell her any thing you discuss with the counselor.
Also there are support groups through some churches that offer counseling, sometimes free. Also call your mental health in your city, and ask if there is any. If you are wanting to see a counselor, that is very commendable!!!! I am proud of you! So pursue your need, and get that help.
