Depressed or just whiny ?!

Question: It's another Monday and it was a real effort to get moving this morning, I have been skint ofor the last 3 weeks, my job bores me to tears my colleagues get on my nerves with their endless talking nonsense, belching and acting like they should be in kindergarten. I feel like a huge black cloud is over me all day and I just want to either scream and break everything in sight or just run away from it all. Worse still I just don't see things getting any better as next month will just bring more of the same and more bills to pay.

So am I depressed or just whiny ?

You are not whiny, but if it looks like a " black cloud" then I would not treat it lightly!

The way you describe it as a 'black cloud' makes me think it could be depression.

You need to see your doctor if you're worried.

Yes you sound depressed. The winter weather doesn't help.
You need to go to the gym/swimming pool, it does something to the endomorphines and lifts depression

it is depression but its caused by something that can be easily helped
your life is in your hands its up to you to make it better

It sounds like your mood is affecting your everyday life. You may have an issue with depression or a mood disorder. Only a professional can really answer that. If money is an issue (which I assume it is because of the comment you made of more bills to pay) you can contact NAMI.org and go to free meetings in your area to talk with others that feel the same way you do.

Neither! How about frustrated with life!

Are you in an area where you can find another job? You might find that changing your work colleagues could lift your mood. Not knowing how old you are I am also going to suggest (this is a fuddy duddy talking) that you get a second job to get ahead of the debt or if you have a mortgage and a home of your own can you rent out a room (be careful to vet any tenant properly and ask for references which can be checked).

I used to work all day Saturday in Tesco then go to a pub in the evening to work behind the bar also did the same Sunday lunchtime. I worked in another pub one night a week. This was in addition to my regular job during the week. Yes I was tired but I knew it was only short term until I got back on my feet. I met lots of new people in the different surroundings. Alternatively can you move to a new area or are you close to your family. A new area may offer a better paid job.

If none of this seems to stimulate your thoughts and you feel totally weighed down by life go and see your GP who may give you anti depressants or send you to a counsellor.

SOUNDS LIKE DEPRESSION N MAYBE ANXIETY

I would get myself to the doctors if I were you. You need some support when you are feeling so low, things can spiral out of control if you leave it too long. You might just need a little help now but if you leave it you could end up in a far worse place. Good luck

get out and find a new job. it will make a big difference

There is nothing mentally wrong with you!!

Everyone goes through times like this in their lives, what you have to do is think positive read back over what you wrote it is all negative everything that you are saying is just bringing more problems into your life, stop worrying about what is wrong in your life and think about all the things that you have.
and want.
Just remember, if you think negative you summon more negativety.....if your positive more great things will begin to manifest into your life
....My advice would be read the book "the secret"
live your life happy and you will always be happy. and may the secret bring you love and joy for your entire exsistance. good luck!

i have a hunch you're giving a thumbs down to answers that don't think there's something mentally wrong with you. and i agree with them - depression is one thing, but frustration is another. try finding a job that would be more joyful for you. and i know that's easier said then done, but if you put your heart into it, it IS possible.

if you continue to dwell on the negatives, you will become depressed eventually.

It sounds like possible depression... the key parts are that you've been feeling bad for the last three weeks, and that you don't see things getting any better.
