How do you stay mentally strong?!

Question: Even when nothing goes right in your life for weeks, even months?

Answers: Even when nothing goes right in your life for weeks, even months?

consider those months or weeks a trial. what a mentally strong person needs is emotional maturity. everyone lapses sometimes but the emotionally mature mind comes back. there are two ways to look at every situation, with a good attitude, or with a bad one. nothing will get accomplished with a bad attitude so that leaves nothing but a good attitude. problems have a way of working themselves out. have you ever looked back on a situation and realized you over reacted? and wondered why you were so down about it? that is how every situation will turn out. fate plays a role here and the turn out will be what it will be so be positive about it and hope for the best that is all a person can do. emotionally mature have mind control. no one can make you feel happy or sad, you let them make you feel that way. you have the power to feel any which way you want to feel. and the good thing is no one can take that away from you unless you let them. how you feel about anything is up to you. good luck.

Remind yourself that you are a sexy beast. and your life matters.

I tell myself that everything happens for a reason. I also give thanks of all the good things I have in life, and believe that there are more to come. It may sound dumb, but hey, it works for me.

learn to love hating other people constructively. it works miracles, believe me.

Cling desperately to the small glimmer of hope that things cannot possibly get any worse...of course, they always do.

I'm sorry you're not having a great few weeks/months, I'm not either... so at least you are not alone. Luck seems to go in cycles like this, at least in my life it does. You'll get your good luck eventually. Hopefully it's sooner rather than later.

In the meantime, find someone to talk to...that always seems to help me. A girlfriend, boyfriend, close friend, counsellor, family member. Anyone. There's that old saying, ''A problem shared is a problem halved,'' but it's true, honestly... Try it!

Good luck! <3

Well I have leukemia, so I just focus on the positives and just remember that what doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger. You'll get through everything that is going wrong, I promise.

man, all u need is a soul mate who can support u, it can be ur friend, family, gf/bf....

If you can imagine that life is like a roller coaster. It has highs and lows. If you keep this in mind knowing that life is tricky at the moment a lull will occur for some R and R.

very hard i use my online friends and my offline friends and family for support try and focus on good in future. This time of year in much or world sucks cause the weather is cold the holidays are over. I also take prozac daily and beta blockers as needed

Meditation is a great way to stay mentally strong as well as working out.

Friends. This is my way of staying sane. WIthout my friends, im not sure what i would be? probably a runaway. anyways, a lot of things have gone wrong in my life. nothing big or anything but things to really get me down in the dumps but my friends always cheer me up! this is one of the reasons that im not a runaway. i know that i am very lucky but i always want to run away from my problems but my friends remind me in subtle ways that i have a purpose! hope this helped!

take control.
excercise every day (even just a walk).
Eat right.
go to places that recharge: museum, park, car show etc....
write how you feel down
don't watch the news
and ultimately.....fake it till you feel it. They have done studies on people who feel sad who go around smiling and acting happy. Guess what ultimately those fakers- became geniunly happy...

hang in there. find the comedy of it.....laugh at what life is throwing at you. I mean picture your life like a movie- does it seem funny that ALL these things keep going wrong??? Just wait- your happy ending is coming up soon!!!!!!!!!

Try years on end. Remember that no-one will do anything for you, only you. You depend on yourself and need yourself. It's not going to change just talking about it. Go after it, no matter how many things in life go wrong, keep going and don't settle.

you think of the better side of life. try being more positive and think of the better outcome.

I am a Drill Sergeant in the US Army and being mentally tough is a must in my business. You first have to accept the fact that you can't control all of the things in your life. There are aspects of life that are not up to you. Second, you must make the decision that sources outside of your control will not make you react in a negative manner. The key to strength is to be proactive and not reactive to life. You control your destiny.

Set your priorities and then practice, practice practice. If you faithfully commit to a few minutes everyday to learning a new skill, you will be amazed at the growth...and amaze others too who have not been as dedicated.

Surrender to WIN! May sound corny but it works for me.

I find my strength in a power greater than myself. I have to surrender my self-sufficiency and realize that I am not all powerful or all-knowing nor am I supposed to be! That really takes the pressure off.

I also have to be willing to admit that I'm human and I have ups and downs. Let down the walls and be real. Trust begets trust. Honesty begets honesty.

The biggest thing that helps me is to get out of myself. Think about someone else. Give them a call to see how THEY are doing. Keep the focus on THEM. Find someone to help with ANYTHING. Whether it's homework, dishes, lending and ear or a shoulder to cry on, rebuilding a home destroyed by disaster, feeding someone who is hungry, or just reading a child a story.

Remember a quote from John Maxwell:
"Reach for the heart - pull the hand."
