Help For Someone Who Is Suicidal?!

Question: I have a friend at work who has been suicidal. This person sends me countless emails during work about how depressed they are and how they sometimes feel like giving up. I have printed some of the emails and shown them to supervisors in hopes that they could do something. They gave my friend info on where to get help but my friend has done nothing. They say they can't do any more for my friend. Friday my friend emailed me and said "are you gonna miss me." I said you're not going anywhere (friend has also feared being fired so i thought this was what they were referring to). They emailed back saying ":( goodbye", then left work. I was so scared we called the police and had them go out to my friend's house to check up on them. They took my friend down to the station and questioned my friend and called back saying everything was fine. My friend needs serious help. Is there a way to have my friend involuntarily hospitalized or something?

Call 911. My sister's husband called 911 on her for being suicidal after childbirth. The ambulence came and took her to a hospital (Mental institution) for 3 days. My sister said it was an "eye opening" experience, and she is grateful for the help given to her.

go to church and what your friend needs is a spiritual leader that can let him/her know they are not alone and that there are many people who love him/her. Your friend needs to get to know God and pray for her. Once she is better get her medical help. But do this fast!!!!!Quick I AM SERIOUS. GOD BLESS YOU:)

There are those who do and the majority who don't kill themselves. Most are simply crying for help; seeking attention; and missery loves company.
Not to sound crude, but suicidal individuals are like dead batteries, when you try to jump start them, you end up draining your own energy.
Cut yourself loose and advise they seek professional help.

your best bet is to sign her up for therapy or something like a psychiatrist, there is treatment for depression, its actually one of the most treatable mental illnesses

If this is a close friend, you could make an appt with a psychologist, pick him/her up, say where your going, that you care enough to do this, and that s/he needs to get a grip and take responsibility.
