Do people who have Schizophrenia should have a job?!

Question: Do you think a person with severe social anxiety disorder should have a job?

Do you think people that have social anxiety disorder and SCHIZOPHRENIA should drive a car?

If you get really nervous, should you have a job?

If you had both conditions would you do any of those things?

Well, if they can handle it, then they certainly should be able to have a job and live a normal life.
If not, then it would be best to have the person on medication if possible.
A lot of people get really nervous, and I don't think that should dictate whether or not they should have a job.

Sure, they have to live also.

Yes, if it is controlled by medication and condition monitored by a dr.

Yes your the mad one with obviously little knowledge of mental health issues and how they may affect some one. Go read a book ignorent.

I dont believe they should be forced to live as hobbits for the rest of their lives just because they have a chemical deficiency in their brain.
There are medications that can replace the chemicals they are missing, and therefore make them a relatively normal person again, so sure, why not? They deserve the right to have freedom and money just like the rest of us.

My husband has schizophrenia and is fine. He takes meds and does drive. He even had his own business, but is now retired. There is so much stigma against all mental illnesses, expecially schizophrenia, that it is really sad. Very few of them would you ever know they had a problem if they take there meds.

Yes it helps to desensitize the person to social anxiety.

I don't think there is one answer to your questions because there is such a broad range of people with mental illnesses.

Many can be helped with medication and/or therapy and others may not be able to function in some of the situations you're asking about. And some people have bad times where they have to limit what they do -- and other times when they're fine.
