How do I tell my room mate he has a drug problem and he needs to get help?!

Question: We're college room-mates. He use to get straight A's and have a 4.0 GPA until last semester. He flunked almost every class he had last semester. . Now if he flunks again this semester, he loses his scholarship and get kicked out of school. Before he was very shy, now he is more outgoing and partying all the time, and doing heroin and smoking weed everyday. What the hell happen to this guy?? he has more friends now, but , his grades were much better when he was just a loner weirdo kid who studied all the time.

Sounds like he needs some intervention.....do you know any family or friends?
I would definately try yo talk to him somehow ask him if he wants to ruin his life and career!
look around campus for soem kind of NA or AA posters with meeting times and bring him a pamphlet...student union may have some info.....good luck!

If you're worried tell him either he will listen of he wont but I doubt he's gonna make the first move at it. Theres nothing wrong with telling your friend you are worried. I had to lose a friend for a year because I told him what I thought, but in the end it worked out and he has put down the bottle.

some people change for the worse.. and theres nothing any1 can do for them besides themselves.. i had a friend like this, and i couldnt stand it anymore.. trying to help and i got yelled at and was getting hurt.. u just have to let them find their own way again sometimes.. pray for him, that's almost all you can do for somebody who doesn't WANT to change...

Even if you're not the one with the drug dependency problem, you might want to call a substance abuse hotline and ask for advice on how to best handle this situation.

They might have good ideas and/or resources in your area that could help with all this.
