Question: He had trouble Swallowing the pills so we stopped giving them to him. We moved, and now he is going to see A new physciatrist tomorrow... I was wondering if there is A liquid form of this medication? The reason why he wanted this medication for him is because He has ADHD and also Depression. He had problems with inattention. and we have tried everything for him to take the pill form.

I have a son whom has ADHD and Aspbergers.Since your son does not do well with pills, there is a patch-I forget what its called. Its for ADHD children. We used it about a yr and a half ago. You put it on the hip, and its time released. And the medication works immediately, goes right into the blood stream. We used to put it on in the morning, then take it off right after school. Ask your doc about this! It may be the answer for you!

Ask if the pills can be crushed and put into a soft drink, or at least water. Some pills cannot be crushed, some can.

Most likely, no liquid.

But yeah, just see if they are crushable. If not, do what we do at the vets office when your dog doesn't want *his* pills- stick it in food!

well, the person who said you can crush them up...is wrong.
if you crush up the pills for your son, he will not get the full
effect of the medication because of the breaking of
molecules and all that stuff.....i think he'd be better off on ritalin. ritalin is VERY small. i started taking that in 2nd-6th because i had an issue with swallowing big pills. i'd advise you to talk to the psych about Ritalin or Adderall. one medication cant help with inattentive ADD and depression. he needs to take one stimulant and an antidepressant. research on Ritalin. strattera doesn't really work for most people. good luck! and no, there isn't a liquid for those kind of medications.

Daytrana TD is a patch
Methylin as a chewable form

I was wondering how old is your child.
I have a grandson he is 11 .He was on strattera.
I would never ,never give my child that crappy **** Ritalin. I have heard bad things and read bad things about that medication.
Have you tried a good therapist for him to talk to.That also can really help the problem . When taking these kind of meds you should always talk to a therapist to, as part of the treatment.
