If its absolutely ridiculous to be mad at someone who's sick, why can be be?!

Question: My sister has recently been diagnosed with cancer, and lately, I have just been so mad. At everything, at the world, at her......and she didnt even do anything. But I cant help it, its just how I feel. Is there something psychologically to explain this?

You are going thru the Grieving process...We have had many family and friends recently who had cancer...
The best way to deal with this is to find a support group of people who also have family/friends with cancer...they will understand what you are feeling...
I had a wonderful American Cancer Society support group...
There you will find out that being mad is normal....as are all the different grief emotions...
Everybody reacts differently to people in the family when an illness strikes...
the best thing I dod was make sure every call and each visit was "QUALITY" with the person..
Whe it was time for them to go to heaven it was OK..We had said and done everything we wanted to and were at peace that we would meet again someday....

Good Luck with your support group 8-)

Hospitals have great grief support groups but also contact your locan American Cancer Society in your are and ask where the family support groups are.....

I think you are mad because it seems unfair, and you feel powerless. That it is unfair, yes, that you are powerless, NO. Do not underestimate your ability to help. Love, caring, support ,humor and compassion can mean so much to both of you. God bless

It's normal to feel anger, even towards your sister. It's all a part of eventually accepting this tragic event in your life.
Sometimes we act inappropriately in situations - like being mad at your sister. It's the same concept as people laughing in difficult situations or when they're nervous. That's probably more common, I'm sure you've heard someone laughing at an inappropriate time. Sometimes the body just doesn't know how to deal or how to react and the first emotion that comes out is what it goes with.
Don't worry, these feelings WILL pass. You can't try to ignore them or bottle them. Just let them out & you'll find that they creep up less and less.
