Help i'm still tempted towards drugs and partying?!

Question: i'm 19 and i really would like to get started on my future. but the past 8 months have been complete crap. i got into raves and drugs and partying alot. it's brought me nothing but horrible situations and bad friends. plus setting me back even furthur on my education status. my depression has just worsened and blah blah. ive had one therapy session and going back tomorrow. but still everytime i look at old pictures i get all nostalgic and want to call my friend and start getting back into it.
what is a phrase i should tell myself whenever this kinda thing drifts back into my head??

after i got in the rave scene i went through a similar phase.
every weekend was accompanied by ecstasy, coke, and k as i chain smoked packs of cigarettes.

my depression took hold and i realized thats not what i wanted. i wanted to be a sober partier. my first sober party was too difficult, i gave in. along with my second, and third, and even fourth. then i realized how much the drugs were not worth it. i still partied after that. its been just over a year since i laid of the drugs. i got my act together. this past year, ive still raved, but learned to enjoy it sober.

learn who your real friends are. if they encourage you to do drugs, they arent your real friends. this is just a phase of your life, but youve got your whole future ahead of you.

im sure youre a really strong girl. i know you can do this. stick with what is truly important. knowing youre doing better for yourself should make you feel better.

i have faith that you can get through this, and focus on school and realize that the partying is not worth it.

good luck!

You need to completely separate yourself from anything and anybody that makes you nostalgic for that lifestyle.

I agree with Sawyer. Start by not beating yourself up so badly. You lived that life and it was not satisfying. Go out and have fun in moderation. Most people party and try lots of things at your age. If they do not, often times they go crazy a little later in life when they need to be there for their kids and families. Look at Brittney Spears, she did not have the opportunity to "sew her oats". Now she is doing it and her kids are suffering. I hate to use her as an example but it was such an obvious reference. Hang in there, the fact that you are aware and have desire to get an education and build a future means you are on the right path.

It is very hard, im 21 and i still cant quit! try to stay away from your friends. Make new friends!
