Some medicines take time to get working in your system and some are effective immediately. Seroquel is usually effective immediately.

Glad you feel better, hope whatever you're going through gets better.

it just does. However you need to really read up on the side effects.
A huge one is weight gain.

I used to take Seroquel. It is an anti-psychotic, it was first approved to treat schizophrenia and then subsequently the manic side of bipolar disorder. Seroquel is quite sedating and these effects will appear shortly after taking the medication. However, they diminish after taking the drug for a while, for me a few weeks. He is correct in saying that the drug's full effect on your disorder will take a while. What you are feeling now are the side effects, not how the drug is affecting your brain chemicals. The full benefit may take 4 to 6 weeks.

For example: Many doctors provide Seroquel for the short-term maintenance of insomnia because of the sedating side-effects.

It really scared me, I COULD NOT take it. It knocked me out fast and I felt like my heart was fluttering. I went to something else. Good luck, all the meds have different affects on different people.

You really need to read up on the side effects.

Also, how easy/difficult this drug is to withdraw from. I am married to someone who was withdrawn from a low dosage of this drug 11 months ago - and just NOW is he able to sleep through nights. What's more disturbing is that this is a common effect.
