I think I'm OCDC...?!

Question: If i'm daydreaming or excited, i can't help it, i just have to flap, shake or rub my hands together. It's embarrasing! Is this what OCDC is (sorta?)?

I'm not sure what "OCDC" is, but what you're describing isn't a pathological manifestation of any type that I'm aware of. AC/DC is a rock band from Australia, OCD is a psychiatric diagnosis that entails unwanted thoughts and behaviors that are uncontrollable. But having to move in a certain way when you get excited is probably just energy, not a disorder. I suppose one could make the case that you're developing Tourette's Syndrome, but I doubt it. I'll put in a link about OCD in case that's what you meant to say.

AC DC is back in black!

What the h*ll is OCDC?

It's possible tho not the typical behavior of OCD. Your best bet is to see your Dr. and discuss your behavior with him. he can then refer you to the proper therapist for a definitive diagnosis. GL

If anything it sounds very mild. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is a bit more repetitive. You just sound like a happy day dreamer. If you constantly flapped your hands every few minutes or had to do this as a ritual throughout the day, that might indicate more of the OCD. I wouldn't worry about this, it doesn't sound that odd to me. Have you consciously tried to control your hands in the past when you get excited? Have people mentioned this behavior is strange or is it something that bothers you? Sounds very mild but, talk to a therapist if you feel that it is really a problem.

Many people have OCD traits without having the disorder. For true OCD the obsessions/compulsions are excessive or unreasonable. What you have described does not meet this criteria.

Are you talking about obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)? If so there is good information on webmd.com. Just type in OCD and it will bring up some helpful pages!
Hope this helps!

from my experience I do not think it sounds like OCD, I am the same, I get in a flap, start counting sleeps and generally leap and jump for joy if i get excited, I suspect this is your body trying to tell you it is okay to get excited, one day do it alone and just let yourself go, you might have fun. The only reason I try curb it but not very well is cos i drive my mates nuts with it, they are just jealous and really excited for me, but i do get a little ott. I counted over 400 sleeps until I was to fly out for Europe, it got a bit much for my friends after about 7!!! Go for it, have a ball. Love to hear how it goes ;) PS sometimes people with autism or HADD (wrong spelling i think) behave like this, but they do heaps of other "different things" so dont get hung up on it.

Hiya, well its possible to have a certain type of ocd, normally ocd comes within the boundaries of somewhere you are safe, like your home, and you clean obsesivly,or check lights, switches, doors (locked /unlocked)you could have just some form of anxiety thing going on,serious i would not worry, but if you feel its getting you down then go and chat with your gp.people with ocd, will often deal with this behind closed doors, and where the outside world cant see what they are doing.
good luck

Lol Sounds like you're getting confused with the band ACDC and the illness OCD (Obsessive Complusive Disorder). If you go on google and look up OCD there's hundreds of websites that can tell you all about it and the symptoms of it.

you don't give enough details to determine if it's ocd. but you could have a tic disorder at the least. stress or excitement does make a tic disorder or ocd much worse. the common tic disorder associated with 1/3 of all ocd disorders is called tourettes syndrome.
